The proposed 775 dwelling development: Hokua Place

The proposed 775 dwelling development: Hokua Place

The proposed 775 dwelling development behind the middle school in Kapaa, Hokua Place, is back and developers proposed-zoning the acreage from Agriculture to Urban.  (see below). Upon reading that intention, I spoke to Riley Hakoda of the Land Use Commission (LUC)  about my concern of having a public hearing during the Covid restrictions.  He said that the person to speak with on the LUC, is off island and will return soon.

Basically, this decision is too important to go virtual  The  location of this development would  negatively impact the lifestyle of Kauai residents on many levels. It is not fair to compromise this public hearing with Covid restrictions. I am asking you to join me and request  that a public or virtual hearing will not be heard until the Covid restrictions are over. I would like to get this out to Kauai residents by Thurs.

Please email Commissioner Riley Hakoda at riley.k.hakoda@hawaii.gov

Mahalo nui loa,

Gabriela Taylor

PS any suggestions about this would be appreciated
